Recessive

A genetic trait is considered recessive if it is expressed in a person who has two copies of a particular gene mutation. (In genetic terms, a recessive trait is one that is phenotypically expressed in homozygotes).

As this pertains to CMT, CMT that is caused by a recessive mutation means that the associated gene has two mutations.
